Boğaziçi Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (BEDAŞ) has been privatized as of May 28, 2013. BEDAŞ, the operating principles of which are defined by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority distributes the electricity that it receives from transmission points to the end users.
BEDAŞ, which has been distributing electricity of 25 billion kWh to approximately 4,7 million subscribers on an area of 3,573 km² on the European Side of Istanbul, is the biggest distribution company of Turkey. BEDAŞ, which has adopted the understanding of high-quality and continuous service, is the leader in the sector with its market share of 13%.
Besides the network renovation investments that were made in 2014 in terms of electricity distribution, it continues to carry out activities which focus on service quality with its investments in fields of human resources, education, research and development, computer technologies and software .
